1. Singapore Food Agency (SFA)
The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is the agency responsible for overseeing all food-related import and export trade in Singapore. The license issued by the SFA is the most important document required for food import and export trade.
Food importers must ensure that imported food sold in Singapore is safe for consumption and complies with the food safety regulations and requirements of the Singapore Food Agency (SFA). Only traders licensed or registered with the SFA may import food for commercial sale. Imported food is also subject to random food safety inspections. Food that is unsafe or substandard will not be sold in Singapore.

For this reason, food importers must apply for a food license or registration with the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) before importing food into Singapore. They must also ensure that all imported food complies with the SFA's jurisdiction and relevant laws and regulations in Singapore.
